The political theater over a U.S. fiscal stimulus package drags on into another day, with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi extending her self-imposed deadline for a deal and President Donald Trump putting more pressure on Senate Republicans via Twitter and the campaign trail to agree to a larger package of support measures. Crude oil prices came off the highs posted in reaction to progress on the U.S. stimulus talks but remain well supported, helped by weakness in the dollar which it makes oil cheaper for non-U.S. buyers.
