APPLE: how to trade the "Hi, Speed!" event?

Hi, Speed!

Apple stock price finally left the areas of below $120 and currently trades at $125. A spike is pretty significant. Why suddenly?

First and foremost – Apple’s “Hi, Speed” event is taking place today at 20:00 MT time. The market is expecting to see new iPhones, 5G technologies and much more to be announced. Seriously much more – that’s why so much positivism pushing the price to $130.

Speaking about the price, various agencies raised their estimation of the stock price to $132 and even $150 within the observable future. Fundamentally, these forecasts are based on good sales projections that Apple is believed to enjoy in the coming months.

How to trade it

So be there, watch the event, and prepare your positions for Apple’s stock price. How exactly?

The expectations are high, so the price may well go up to $130 before and during the event. That's why - if you choose to risk - you may want to buy now and see it through the event today. Now, be cautious: immediately after the event, the market may see a bounce downwards just to correct itself and steam off a bit – that’s when investors will weigh the real value of what Apple announces. So put Stop Loss - that's obligatory! Probably, $123 may be approprite for that as that's where the previous candle on H4 closed. Take Profit may be put at $130, or above - if you like to take some more risk.

After the event, if the market is impressed by it, the price will go above $130 establishing that as a new baseline level and probably reaching $135 in the short-term. Otherwise, it will drift across $130 and mildly continue the upward trajectory. Mind the volatility though – no one says it disappears with new iPhones coming to the stage.

So here are the scenarios

Strong: the price goes straight from $125 to $130 before and during the event with no significant correction, then continues rising.

Mild: the price reaches $130, bounces downwards to $126-127, then contunies growing.

Tactics: buy before the event (20:00 MT time) today; Take Profit: $130 and above; Stop Loss: $123.
