Turkey stocks head south at close of trade
On Friday, Turkey stocks headed south after the close due to the fact losses in the Tourism, Transport, and Real Estate Investments sectors led shares down.
In Istanbul, the BIST 100 inched down by 0.03% at the close.
The top-notch gainers of the trading session on the BIST 100 were represented by Alarko Holding AS that ascended by 6.74% ending up with an outcome of 2.850 at the close. Besides this, Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS surged by about 5.76% ending up with 435.00. As for Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim, it managed to jump by up to 5.56% concluding the trading session at 1.330.
As for the worst performers of the trading session, they were represented by ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS that decreased by 2.11% being worth 5.100. In addition to this, Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS headed south by about 1.69% trading at 4.660, while Turkish Airlines slumped by 1.26% showing an outcome of 14.150.
On the Istanbul Stock Exchange, soaring shares managed to outnumber diving ones by 222 to 124, while 61 didn’t change.
Meanwhile, on the Comex exchange, June delivery gold futures slumped by about 0.01% demonstrating a reading of $1277.90 a troy ounce. As for other commodities, May delivery crude futures tacked on by up to 0.38% trading at $64.00 a barrel. Additionally, June delivery Brent futures dived by 0.04% ending up with $71.95 a barrel.
The currency pair USD/TRY tacked on by 0.28% ending up with 5.8105. As for the currency pair EUR/TRY, it surged by 0.46% trading at 6.5367.
Besides this, the US Dollar Index Futures jumped by up to 0.49% reaching 97.132.
