American stock futures wait for earnings

On Tuesday, Wall Street futures pointed to a flat start because market participants looked ahead to a string of earnings, some data on the labor market as well as appearances by Fed members.

The blue-chip Dow futures managed to leap 0.13%, the S&P 500 futures grew 0.07% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 futures acquired 0.05%.

Tracking the implied volatility of American stock options and considered to be an investor fear gauge, the widely-watched CBOE Volatility Index concluded nearly 8%, reaching 9.77 on Monday, thus demonstrating its lowest value since December 1993.

Neel Kashkari, Minneapolish Fed president, who voted against the last rate lift because of his preference to hold policy steady, is about to take part in the MN High Tech Spring Conference, which will be followed by an audience Q&A.

Additionally, Eric Rosengren, Boston Fed chief is expected to deliver a speech at a risk management for business real estate conference.
